One of my fondest memories as Northern California National Speakers Association chapter president was being on a panel with other past presidents.
I had developed this idea that in our business you were either a Greek or a Roman. The Greeks cared about passion and poetry while the Romans were all about power and money. I rented a toga for my brief talk explaining that I was too much of a Greek, and that we needed both to be successful.
Fortunately, with the yin and yang of me and Mary, we managed to straddle both worlds at PowerSpeaking.
Yikes! You’ve done it again. Whatta great edition this and other L.I.Rip posts are. I once did "comedy" talk for an Amdahl audience. The top executive came on after me and warned the audience not to do what I advised. He didn’t get the put on. I just found the tape of that talk. Anyway, thanks muchly for your terrific posts. We must do lunch again soon. Blessings –Duncan
