On October 5, 2015, Governor Jerry Brown signed into law our right to choose how and when we decide to die.
No longer will the terminally ill have to go through a horrible death because physicians are barred from helping them end their suffering. No longer will we need to move to another state (Oregon) like Brittany Maynard (left) had to do. As she finally got relief from the brain tumor that would soon kill her, she made a beautiful statement with the way she ended her life.
Untold thousands of people will have a more serene death on their own terms because of what she and her husband, Dan Dias did for all of us.
This is a great day for freedom and choice. Thank you Brittney, Dan, and Compassion & Choices for bringing us here.
