Janis Joplin / Craftsmen

Janis Joplin

I saw Janis Joplin just once, October 1966 in Golden Gate Park. She was with Big Brother on the back of a flatbed truck. Bullied as a child she expressed her pain in her music. A tragic character. Here are my photos from that day so long ago.

Meet our Craftsmen

We are in the midst of a front-porch remodel. Our contractor, Mediterraneo, brings very competent subs. I love watching these men work. I’ve been fortunate to get to know some of them. So, of course, I had to interview them about their work.

In this video you will hear from the contractor, Mark Brunner, followed by the cement truck driver, the cement contractor, the portable toilet cleaner, the electrician, and the wood framer.  At the end, I included some clips of a knife sharpener from ACE Hardware in Redwood City.

I love hearing answers to questions like, “What do you like most about this job?” The toilet cleaner said, “Well, it’s not for everyone.”
