Went down to a local park and met two ham radio operators. They were broadcasting all around the country and quite eager to tell me about their hobby. Many surveys of late indicate we have an epidemic of loneliness, especially with young men. The fun Frank and Sean told me about was simply talking to strangers on their radios. Hmmm? Maybe this could help with our loneliness problem. If you are ever in Cloverdale, stop by Furber Park and say “Hi” to Frank and Sean. They’d love to tell you about the joys of ham radio.
By the way, keep your iPhone (with its amazing video camera) with you at all times. Never know when you’ll meet interesting people who’d love to tell you about their passion.
Yep, people who are into ham radio do love it. In the age of emails and messages and AI, ham radio is a world all its own. I have a friend who is a physics professor and had to move way outside of town so he could put up his huge tower.. — Fun post!
