Absurd TV Ads: Viagra and PowerSpeaking

Have you noticed recently how TV ads for medical products follow a strange pattern? They start out identifying the problem: diabetes, heart problems; erectile dysfunction, etc. and show a person or couple in a meadow or at the beach having a wonderful time in slow motion. Then the voice-over starts with all the side effects: call you doctor immediately and stop taking XYZ medicine if you experience a psychotic break, want to commit suicide, break out in a whole body rash, get depressed, have all your hair fall out, etc., etc. Meantime the beautiful couple continue through the woods or strolling along the beach smiling at each other.

This is laughable. Must be some federal legislation that mandates all such commercials come complete with side effects. Undoubtedly to avoid law suits.
