Don’s memorial

Saying Good-bye

Saying good-bye to you Don

is saying good-bye

to a lingering sigh.

Saying good-bye to you Don

is saying good-bye to a flight

of snow-white doves

disappearing forever into a clear blue sky

or to a lone soaring eagle

disappearing until the end of time

into the last light

of an evening sky so sublime.

Saying good-bye to you Don

is saying good-bye to a cup made of years

overflowing with laughter,

overflowing with tears.

Saying good-bye to Don

is saying good-bye

to a lingering sigh.

OMG,Rick. This is fabulous. Thank you so very much for putting this together. Some of our friends were so sad not to be able to attend Don’s Celebration, and now they have a chance to be a part of it anyway. The poem brought a lump to my throat, and hearing the service and seeing the photos was another emotional journey for me, but I know I’ll be comforted by hearing/viewing this again and again. He was so special and personified the most giving person there ever was. I miss him so very much.
Like Katie, you’re not just a dear friend, you’re part of our family. Thank you for everything!
