New Grandson Arrives
A week ago, Katy gave birth to Reid Kelly Munger (6 lbs, 4 oz). Baby and mama are doing fine. Reid was delivered via c-section at 1:30AM. The morning of the delivery, I wrote this to some friends:
“I am feeling all soft and gooey. Been weepy all morning. A dear friend from Berkeley High is going into Hospice while we celebrate the next iteration of sperm and egg. 13 billion years to get to Reid. My DNA has been contributed. Now my light fades. Will I live long enough to see Reid reach 5 or 10 ? Doubt it. Some of you have grandchildren. Luckily you lived long enough to get to know them. Reid and I may get a few precious years. Mary reminded, ‘When you wait to become a father for the first time until you are 51, this is what happens.‘”
I’ve heard this grandparent thing is one of life’s huge pleasures. I’ll keep you posted.
New Photo “Trick”
Ever found yourself scrolling madly through literally thousands of photos on your phone trying to find that one terrific shot of ….whatever? Me too.
For years I’ve searched for a way to liberate my best shots from my iPhone camera and put them up on the wall to enjoy, just like a Picasso or a Van Gough or an Ansel Adams. I struggled with computer-based programs like Photoshop or Keynote. Didn’t work. Cumbersome. Costly. Hard to create. Temperamental.
I recently found a solution: neumi atom 4x digital media player. $59 on Amazon. No software. No computer. All you need is an LCD panel display (tv) say, 2’ X 3’ ($100 – $200) and you’re in business. Time to start enjoying your wonderful photos of family, vacations, abstracts, sunsets, etc.,

You should get a commission on each neumi sold! So happy for Katy and the entire family. What a joy! I have a feeling you’ll be around for quite awhile to enjoy Reid!
❤️ to all.
I cherish my grandmother role: love them wholeheartedly, cheer them on unabashedly, favor them, admire them, encourage them, enjoy them. It’s a blast! How about some photo tips for best shots of the grands? I’d like to hear your advice.
Congratulations Rick. Cherish every moment with Reid.. In a blink of an eye he will be walking, talking and going to kindergarten.
Congratulations! This is wonderful news! Welcome, Reid! As Bob Mazawa stated, “Cherish every moment.” Thanks for sharing the information about neumi. Much love always.

Indeed welcome Reid!
Congrats to you, your parents and your grandparents.
Hugs and kisses,
Your great uncle Bill
PS Reid, please note this weirdness in language. “Great” in “great uncle” or “great any other relative or relative-in-law” is merely an indication of generation and has nothing to do with fame or accomplishment.
Great News Rick!
Congratulations to all in your family. Thank you Grandpa for sharing the news. Enjoy!
Oh I can’t tell you how HAPPY it makes me that you get to be a Grandpa!!! It’s just …magic. Congratulations to all of you!
